As a local business, we understand the value that local support has and it's critical role for being a thriving business. We try to buy locally when it's an option and do our best to feature local products whenever possible.

The Food & The People

Our produce department has worked hard over the years to create a network of connections with local farmers to keep us supplied throughout the growing seasons. We work closely with farmers so we know what they have available when we need to have it in the store so it's the freshest for our customers. We serve as a drop-off spot for local CSA's as well, CSA shareholders can stop in here to pick up their deliveries.

Some of the local farms we get produce from
  • Clarion River Organics - Sligo, PA
  • Weeping Willow Farms - Hartstown, PA
  • Farm One Fifty Three - Jefferson, OH
  • Edible Earth Farms - Tionesta, PA
  • Octagon Acres - Conneaut, OH
  • Simonsen Farms - Springboro, OH
  • ...and many more

In addition to produce, we carry many other local products such as

  • eggs from a variety of local farms around the region
  • cheese from the Middlefield Cheese Co-op in Ohio
  • hand-made body care products
  • a large variety of meats from local farms in our frozen section
  • local honey

Every June our members vote on a list of local, nonprofit organizations to choose 12 of them for our monthly donations program. We collect donations at the register and whatever we end up with, the Co-op matches up to $200 of that dollar amount.

We also dedicate a portion of our fiscal budget to a charitable donation program. Local, nonprofits who are having an event can submit a request and, if approved, the Co-op will give them a gift card which can be used to purchase items in the store for their event or be raffled off, whichever they choose.
