Position: Part-Time Baker

Our focus and mission each day is to provide the best possible customer experience for each and every person who walks through our doors. To this end, our buyers do their best to create a product selection that encompasses the daily needs of our customers by providing options with the consideration of a variety of dietary needs as well as budgets.

What We Are Looking For:


Currently we are seeking applicants for a part-time, baker. This position will prepare a wide range of healthy, attractive baked goods from scratch. This position will also assist the Kitchen Manager and/or Food Service Manager to meet cafe department goals. The successful candidate MUST be available to work 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. including weekends and holidays.

Position Requirements


  • Certification in Erie County food handling, or a willingness to be certified
  • Ability to work well with others in cooperative environment where teamwork and constant communication are essential
  • Commitment to superior customer service
  • Strong organizational skills and acute attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple demands and difficult situations with tact and diplomacy
  • Willingness and ability to learn and grow to meet the changing requirements of the job

Preferred Experience


  • Culinary baking degree or minimum two years baking in a commercial kitchen experience a plus
  • Customer service experience in a public-serving position preferred
  • Knowledge of common allergies and/or natural foods a plus
  • Computer skills: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Internet applications preferred

Currently we are seeking applicants for a Part-Time Cashier . The successful candidate will work evenings on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. In addition, candidates should be available to work weekends and holidays as needed. The person hired for this position will assist the Front End Manager and team to meet department goals. Applicants should:

  • possess excellent customer service skills.
  • be able to interact in a professional manner with visitors, customers, member-owners, staff, and the public.
  • be able to work well with others in cooperative environment.
  • pay attention to detail; possess good organizational skills and follow through on commitments.
  • possess strong communication and listening skills, both face-to-face and over the phone.
  • work well with minimum supervision.
  • possess money-handling, POS and cash register use skills.
The ideal candidate would have previous experience in retail/grocery store, including experience with customer service and POS systems.
