When we set out to create the Co-op Community Center, we wanted to create a space that represented our stores commitment to the local community and the environment. Many of the building materials, when possible, were reused and incorporated into the new area-including our redwood counter top which was re-purposed from a local water tower.
Paint, kitchen appliances, kitchen cabinets and the glass for the cabinets all came from independently owned businesses in Erie. We kept as much money as possible within the local economy.
We are offering educational classes in a variety of subjects, we have a full-featured demo kitchen for cooking classes, and the room is available to rent for presentations, meetings, classes, yoga, personal celebrations etc. to member-owners and non-member-owners alike.
If you're interested in renting the room for your own event, please view the document below for details about the facility and all the guidelines. You may visit the Community Center Bookings Page and view all the available dates and times, keeping in mind that just because a date/time appears to be open on the calendar there are no guarantees until the booking is approved and all the paperwork is turned in. This page also contains a form you can fill out to send your request directly to our Outreach Coordinator.
